Picking on the BFG edition about it (why else would you list Final Doom and Doom 64 after all) really isn't going to solve anything or help anyone. I really don't think we'll ever see a "full" version of Doom 1 and 2 even if it's just someone inserting all the extra maps that have been made over the years. At least the Doom RPG looks like the original engine. However if you're going to include it anyways, lets add in the Doom RPG and the Doom 3 rail shooter for phones. It's not the same game engine, and doesn't support maps from other versions of Doom and therefor shouldn't be listed as "classic Doom." I do find it sad that it's never been re-released anywhere officially since it's creation - but that's probably more to do with licensing from Nintendo than anything else. Your listing doesn't reflect that.ĭoom 64 shouldn't even be on this list. There's also the issue of some of those versions of the game you're listing are missing huge chunks of maps (the Jaguar version for instance). In the case of the Xbox version the guys responsible for the Xbox Doom 3 port had once started making a custom wad and never finished - so they snuck it onto the disk as an unofficial easter egg. Some of those levels had nothing to do with official releases. Total levels for Classic Doom: 204 levels. 32 levels (25 regular, 4 Secret, 4 Fun levels) 32 levels from Final Doom - TNT: Evilution (30 regular, 2 secret) 32 levels from Final Doom - The Plutonia Experiment (30 regular, 2 secret) Of note, secret levels 31 & 32 have been modified to remove references to certain WW2 bad guys. X-Box Map Betray is included, but not reachable unless using the console. Of these, the BFG Doom includes the 32 original Doom II levels & the 9 from No Rest for the Living.
